Straight waves perpendicular to the coastline adds a wonderful, yet subtle dynamic to this photo. Wave abused erosion on rock formation and sand area has a nice lighting sweeping across it as a waves do.

beautiful view and composition. strange colors, though. kind of unnatural yellow and a bit too bright. play a little with the selective colors, color balance and you'll have an even better photo, imho. Florin

To answer your question, I much prefer your 'alternative' version... it retains the sea/coastline and the mood that that inspires, while introducing the interesting shapes and patterns of the walkways on the cliff head. Phill

I also think think alternate version is a much stronger composition. They both have quite a bit of noise in the sky. Other than that, very nice work. (especially the alternate.) John

I like this, although I agree about the colors of the sky. I bet an image like this would like great with HDR.
